President’s Message

The Canadian Dermatology Foundation (CDF) has a legacy of supporting and being at the forefront of Canadian dermatology research and innovation for over a half century.

In the past 10 years, more than 200 studies and research initiatives that lead to the advancement of life altering treatments of skin, hair and nail diseases have been funded by the Foundation. These extraordinary gains are recognized globally and, through ongoing support; future breakthroughs will be added to the list of prestigious endeavours lead by our funded clinical researchers.

We are a foundation that is committed to growing and supporting Canadian dermatology researchers from across all generations. The CDF is encouraging this by focusing on discovering and enhancing knowledge in the field, raising the profile of the speciality, and improving societal outcomes and influencing health policy. These are the core elements of our strategic focus set out in 2016.

The possibility of fostering new research and talent, along with sustaining the ongoing initiatives, comes from the generous individual and corporate donor support, which is instrumental in ensuring future excellence in scientific discoveries, new treatments, and education that benefits the speciality and patients.

I’m honoured to have this opportunity to support and encourage Canada’s talented dermatology researchers.
