History

The CDF owes its existence to 13 dermatologists who, in 1969 had the vision to realize how critical research was to the future of dermatology.

Contributors of the CDF can take satisfaction in seeing the great strides dermatological research has made since 1969.

 

Milestones

2016 – World Congress of Dermatology Endowment Fund established

2014 – CDF 45th anniversary – $6,000,000 grants awarded

2009 – CDF 40th anniversary – $5,000,000 grants awarded

2008 – CDF Benefactor Life Patron donor level introduced

2007 – First year of Benefactor Life Contributors’ CDF Research Grant

2005 – CDF Colin Ramsay Endowment Fund established

2004 – CDF 35th anniversary – $3,500,000 awarded

2003 – Establishment of Edwin Brown – CDA Endowment research grant

1994 – Introduction of the Corporate Benefactor Program

1992 – Launch of “CDF Practitioner of the Year Award”

1991 – Dr. Frederick Kalz Fund established

1990 – CDF becomes sole beneficiary of the $470,000 Winefride Raye estate

1979 – George S. Williamson Fund amalgamated with CDF

1974 – British Columbia Dermatology Foundation amalgamated with CDF

1969 – Thirteen dermatologists establish the CDF
